We see the accelerated adoption of electric vehicles, solar power, battery storage, and ultimately autonomous transportation fleets as a realistic endeavour capable of significantly reducing CO2 and other air pollution, while increasing quality of life and reducing transportation costs at scale. This vision requires a profit making business model that is scalable in order to leverage transformation towards a low or no carbon transportation future.

The social mission is to make streets safer, and drastically lower CO2 over time, as we expose many more people to electric vehicles and ride share services. TESLAGO provides the highest quality service to corporate and individual customers looking for a pick up and drop off service between Edmonton, Calgary and Banff. The secret mission is to build a fleet of fully autonomous capable vehicles in time for the tech and legislation to be ready.

The ultimate vision is a future transportation system that primarily relies on excellent low carbon public transportation supplemented by affordable electric autonomous car share. This could result in an average household saving of up to $10,000 per year (According to AMA, Albertan’s have >2 cars per household and each car costs ~$10,000 per year to own). Autonomous ride-share can cost half of car ownership.

According to a UC Berkley study, each car share membership in Calgary replaced 9 privately owned vehicles. Thus shifting the model of ownership towards shared car fleets, public transit, and people powered mobility can greatly reduce demand for both on street parking which can be converted into wider sidewalks and bike lanes; as well as private parking lots which can be redeveloped into housing. Redundant private garages can be freed to become community workshops, home based businesses, and ancillary dwellings to further household incomes and rising home ownership costs. This is the future we are driving towards.
